Mark is a chartered quantity surveyor with an MBA from Manchester Business School. He has nearly thirty years experience in the engineering and construction businesses with a background that involved working for contractors and programme managers. He has project experience on a wide range of infrastructure, water / wastewater, building, telecommunications, process, energy, offshore and marine projects undertaken in the UK, many parts of mainland Europe, north Africa and the Middle East.
For the majority of his career, Mark has been involved in contractual and commercial matters and the resolution of disputes. His specific experience includes undertaking contract drafting and reviews, risk analysis, cost / value analysis, providing contractual and / or strategic advice on ongoing projects and dealing with, or advising on, valuation of the works and variations. He has extensive experience in the forensic analysis for both quantum and delay matters and in preparing, defending and negotiating claims on matters such as labour disruption, contentious valuation issues and delays. Mark also acts as an expert witness having compiled reports for adjudication, arbitration and litigation, and has given written and verbal evidence before a number of international arbitration tribunals.
Mark is an experienced provider of bespoke training on standard forms of contracts, general contractual and commercial matters and often speaks at seminars.
Mark has lived in the Netherlands for over eight years and is responsible for Trett Consulting's European operations.
